Minnesota author Nicole Helget will be at the Kenyon Public Library to discuss her book , The End of the Wild, a middle grade book that won the 2018 Minnesota Book Award for Middle Grade Literature. The event is free and open to the public. The New York Times said of the book, “While the larger debate about fracking plays out across the book, this is ultimately a story about the complicated effects it has on the life of one girl, a child who has the misfortune of being forced to reconcile fundamentally opposing ideas.”

Nicole Helget is the author of several award-winning novels, including Stillwater and The Turtle Catcher. She describes herself as “a writer, teacher, and mother from North Mankato, Minnesota.” In addition to writing novels, she blogs at www.nicolehelget.blogspot.com.
