Come check out the new paint and carpet at the library! Light refreshments will be served.

The Kenyon Public Library recently underwent a carpet and paint refurbishment. We began removing items from the library and boxing up books for storage on December 2, 2019. The library was closed on December 11 so the remaining shelving and books could be moved into the City of Kenyon Council Chambers. On December 12 the library reopened operating under regular hours with limited services and materials in the council chambers. On January 6 the library once again was closed so we could move shelving and materials back into the library. By the end of January, all items had been removed from the storage container and made available.

I would like to thank all of the library staff and the City of Kenyon Public Works department for all their hard work in moving and boxing books and shelving. I also like to thank our City of Kenyon Council and our City Administrator for financially supporting this project and investing in our community.

All are welcome to join us for an open house on Tuesday, March 24 from 5 to 6:30 pm in the library to celebrate the completion of this project. Immediately following the open house, the library will be hosting an author talk with Minnesota author Wendy Webb. All are invited to stay for this event as well.
