Preschool Storytime
Storytime begins at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday and Friday mornings during the months September through May. Story Time lasts approximately 45 minutes to one hour. During this time children will listen to two or three books, sing songs, participate in activities, and create a craft revolving around a specific weekly theme. An adult is required to attend and participate with their children. The same program is offered on Thursday and Friday of each week so more people can attend as our space is limited. Please choose which day works best for your schedule.
Our storytime programs are designed to teach preschoolers creative expression, social skills, listening and comprehension skills, the basics of reading through number and letter recognition, and aid in vocabulary building and cognitive development. This program is designed for children age 2 through lower elementary, though all children are welcome to attend with an adult. Daycares are also welcome. Storytime is a free program.
Baby & Me Storytime

Join us at the Kenyon Public Library for books, bounces, songs, play, and social time with other babies and their caregivers. Geared toward children from birth to 36 months. Siblings are welcome! This class meets about once per month, usually on the last Wednesday of the month from September to May.
LEGO Club
LEGO Club is on Summer Break! See you in November!
Join us once a month between November and April to complete the Challenge of the Day or free build your own creation. Stop in any time between the designated times and stay for 10 minutes or the whole time! Your creations will be displayed in the library. All ages are welcome for this free event, but kids under the age of 7 must be accompanied by an adult or teenage caregiver.
Sunshine & Stories
We’ll see you in Summer 2027!
Join us Wednesdays during June through August at 10:30 a.m. on the grass at First Evangelical Lutheran Church (corner of Forest Street & 3rd Street) for Sunshine & Stories, a 45 minute outside Story Time! Listen to a story or two, and join in on an activity! All ages are welcome but this program is geared toward children ages 2 to 10 years old. Sunshine & Stories will be held inside the library in case of inclement weather. Follow our Facebook page HERE for updates if we will meet inside on a particular day.
Adult Book Group
We have an adult book group that meets month at the library. The book group meets the last Monday of the month at 1:30 pm. New members are always welcome.
Book Sales
The annual book sale is held each year in August during Kenyon’s Rose Fest celebration. The sale is located in the City of Kenyon Council Chambers, which is in the same building as the library. The remaining materials that do not sell in the annual book sale are moved into the library for our in-house book sale that continues through mid-November. Please contact the library if you would like more information about the book sale.
